Remember back in March when a source said Ben Affleck had been "reaching out" to Jennifer Lopez again, and claimed "the dirty secret" is that he’s "a diva" who "likes attention and calls the paps and manipulates women." Well, update!
Multiple insiders spoke to Us Weekly, saying Ben and J.Lo are "not in contact very often," that they're "in a place where they know they can call or text at any time and be cordial," and that "they’re still in touch, but they were more so during the divorce because they had a reason to be, especially for the kids. The blended family vibe has softened with distance, but there’s still lots of love."
Meanwhile, turns out Ben hated the attention his relationship with Jennifer garnered, and wasn't a fan of the "Bennifer" nickname: “Ben doesn’t feel as exposed now, and he likes that. Ben never really liked the public aspect of their relationship. [He] was frustrated with the Bennifer 2.0 nickname and never really comfortable with it all.”
But wait, there's more. A source also spoke to the Daily Mail about Bennifer (apologies, Ben!), saying "They are both sad that the marriage did not work out. Instead of crying over it, however, they are working their hearts out. They love being busy with solid projects. They want more successes, more hit films, more awards."
As for where things stand between Ben and Jennifer Garner, a source told Us Weekly that they do occasionally hang out without their kids, and that "Their relationship has deepened since [Ben’s] divorce, but there is nothing romantic between them."
